Day 14 : Vienna

After a great evening out with some old and new friends, we decided to go and have some coffee at Stephansplatz at a very pink restaurant called Adia. I must say, the coffee in Vienna… there's not really anything like it. I'm pretty sure I'll ever be able to drink another Tim's coffee again, not that I could much handle them before. The coffee shop was near this church, I guess it was sort of okay looking.

It's called Stephansdom and incase I've not done it justice with the picture, it is amazing. So beautiful even just from the outside. I'm pretty sure tomorrow the plan is to check out the inside, and I can't wait!

Also, found this tiny little house at the back of the church. I'm not sure what it's purpose is, or how to live there, but some day I will. I wouldn't even care that my house was A: in one of the most touristy areas in Vienna or B: attached to a church with creepy crypts underneath it. Wouldn't matter, I'm in love.

After wandering around for a little while we decided to meet up with Alicia (who had left earlier in the morning) to grab a bite to eat at a small cafe that Ryan had recommended I try. This cafe is so small that it's name is, in fact , Kleines Cafe. It is located in a very adorable little square (insert name of square) that is quiet and has a nice fountain. After perusing the options I decided on a tomato, cucumber and camembert sandwich. It came open face, on a slice of thickly sliced multigrain, or rye bread and was topped with a sprinkling of chives. Other choices around the table were. tomatoes and cucumbers, just camembert and one with all of the above plus ham. Oh, plus I had a Raddler, as they are now my summer drink of choice. What? It was well past noon at this point.

After enjoying a lovely meal we decided it was time to try and shake things up. Or well, bounce things around? My bad transitions aside, we headed to the trampolines. If you're not sure what these are, they are a bunch of trampolines that are literally floating on the Danube River. There are about 20 or 30 of them in a row that you can just go and jump on. While I politely declined to bounce on these aquatic contraptions , due to (justified) crippling trampoline fears, my party members had a wonderful time.

Since we were already down on the water and it was getting later in the day our little pack headed to a nearby patio bar and had some well deserved beer.

Once returning home plans and calls were made for the evening's events. Unfortunately, I was not feeling well. I guess excessive sun and drinking beer all day long are not the best combination. I left the safety of the herd and stayed at the apartment for some R&R (and schoolwork). That's all for me tonight. I need to get my research done while I have the internet so I can hopefully get some work done on the overnight train from Vienna to Venice tomorrow night. I have a feeling this train ride might be the end of me.
